What will I receive as part of the EMT franchise system?
You will have training at our corporate location for at least two weeks. You will also receive our pre-opening help at your own location, for up to an additional five days. You will have ongoing access to all EMT trademarks, approved suppliers, and our proprietary operational tools. And, we'll provide you with a copy of our confidential operations manual to help you run your business effectively.
What type of prior experience do I need to have?
Transportation, healthcare, logistic, procurement, DSD or government backgrounds are always helpful. Customer service, sales/marketing, people management and business management skills are also important. For qualified candidates, we will provide the tools and training needed to run your own EMT business. We do, of course, expect that you have the right amount of capital to invest in the franchise.
How much will the EMT franchise investment cost me?
The estimated required investment ranges from $169,900 to $252,000. As with any new business venture, it's important that you have the capital needed to adequately fund your new business.
Are there ongoing fees paid to the franchisor?
Franchisees will be required to pay 5% royalty fees on all gross revenue. As with all franchise organizations, these royalties allow us to fund our ongoing support services and the continued development of new products, procedures, marketing tools, training programs, and systems upgrades.
Are there any advertising fees?
Franchisees will be required to spend a minimum of $5,000 each year on their own approved advertising. In addition, they are required to spend $5000 for your grand opening campaign. We also require franchisees to contribute 2% of gross revenues toward a system marketing fund. Funds are used to develop marketing strategies to promote the EMT brand and fund the creative costs to develop local franchise marketing materials.
Is financing available?
No, we do not offer direct financing to franchisees. We may be able to provide references to qualified financing or lending agencies, on a case-by-case basis.
What is the term of the franchise agreement?
The initial term of your EMT franchise agreement is seven (7) years, with four (4) subsequent seven (7) renewal terms.
How long has EMT been in business?
Bernie Squitieri, the founder of EMT has been in the transportation business for over 25 years. EMT was founded in 1996. EMT USA, the franchise company was formed in 2007 and began franchising in 2008.
